Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.

We are immensely pleased to offer a dedicated space for shamanic community in the heart of the old centre of Dublin city. The cobbled Smithfield Square is reknowned for the Horse Fair that still takes place there on the first Sunday of every month. Our centre is located in one of the oldest buildings on the square. Jameson Whiskey Distillers built two large grey stone buildings here, divided by New Church Street. One housed the distillery plant, (now called The Jameson Whiskey Museum) and a second the administration offices, (called The Distillers Building). The latter building which has numerous mature trees in it's grounds, came into private ownership several years ago and we were pleased to locate our centre in a large room there. The current owners have renamed the building recently and it is now officially known as The Smithfield Business Centre@The Distillers Building.

It was a longheld vision by us to offer a much needed space for community, ritual and healing in the centre of our capital. We see shamanic life as a reality in an urban environment as much as in the wilderness. Indeed, the suffocation of connection to Nature by living in an urban environment made the creation of our centre a vital contribution to the shamanic culture of our community. The centre is a sanctuary, a space of rare energy that opens doors within us allowing us to source wholeness, compassion, wisdom and connection. It is a safe place for the hearts of all to be held and filled naturally and freely with the energies of Mother Earth, Father Sky and Great Spirit. Above all, the centre is a place where Life in all it's forms is celebrated.

FIR LE CHÉILE (MEN TOGETHER). 2012 Dates:January 31st/February 28th/March 27th/April 24th/May 29th/June 26th/July 31st/August 28th/September 25th/October 30th/November 27th/December 27th (NB.Thurs.evening)
7pm - 10pm. Donation €12. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.
A warm, supportive, dynamic gathering of men, for men, by men. A time for men of all ages to gather beyond any agenda except to embrace the precious experience of open, non-judgemental sharing and witnessing, ceremony and ritual dedicated to the development of the sacred masculine within us all. Our experience of boyhood and manhood will be powerfully deepened by simple sharing of our experiences, past and present. From within the group each month, will be the opportunity to choose a communal expression (e.g. drumming) of how we are in the world at that time. This can offer a powerful release of energy that lances stress and gives voice often to what we find inexpressible about ourselves on a daily basis. One of the longer term aims of the circle will be to co-create a superior myth of manhood than the ones predominant in contemporary culture. As part of that aim comes the challenge to provide Initiation and Rites Of Passage to and for ourselves. Mentorship will be also be fostered. Taking place on the last Tuesday of every month with John. For more information, click here.

IMBOLG CELEBRATION NIGHT: Wednesday 1st February 2012. 7pm – 10pm Cost €12. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.
A gathering to honour the coming of new life, new enterprise and new beginnings of Spring. As our Ancestors traditionally made offerings to the Earth, danced, drummed and sang to inspire a harvest in its infancy, we gather in circle to so that our lives may share fully the energies of Springtime. There will be open sharing, quiet reflection and an energised setting for personal visioning and manifestation of deeper, fuller living. We will celebrate the passing of a snowy, icy Winter and celebrate too the prospect and promise of the brighter, warmer days that are already greeting us. Imbolg is the time of Brigid, an archetypal “caretaker of the Earth” and rituals and stories associated with her will be a natural part of the evening. No previouis formal shamanic experience/training is necessary to attend. Friends, family and particularly children welcome.

DRUM TUATHA – DRUM TRIBE: Tues.Feb.21st & Tues.Mar.13th & Tues.Apr.17th ,
7pm – 10pm. Donation €12. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.

Drum Tuatha - Drum Tribe is a new monthly gathering that embraces the power of the drumbeat and rhythm to move us, soothe us, transport us and renew us. No prior technical training is required, as this is not a skill-based drumming collective. Nor do you have to have your own drum, as there are several communal ones in the centre. Many of you will be familiar with the use of the drum for immrama (journeying) and we will use our drums for this in traditional and innovative ways. We will play with rhythm to express those parts of ourselves that cannot be conveyed through words. Drum Tuatha is all about unselfconscious play, easy-entry healing states and noisy, pulsating community. Friends, partners, siblings, offspring (min. age 12) are welcome. If you have a heartbeat, you have rhythm.

SUPERVISON DAY: HEALERS SPIRAL GRADUATES; Fri. 24th February (advanced group) Sacred Site Visit Loughcrew tbc & Sat.10th March 10am – 5pm. €45. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.
Raise your professionalism with new technique learning, sharing with peers, mentoring and supervision. Starting in the morning with an introduction of a new Energy Medicine technique that will be an invaluable “stand-alone” or “add-on” to one learned during the Healers Spiral. Karen will lead participants through experience of this technique. She will also coach the implementation of it and ensure that you can draw upon it as soon as you next return to healing practice. The optional afternoon session will be a forum for sharing your client work in a safe, confidential space with feedback from your peers and supervisory mentoring from Karen. We recommend this one day gathering for all Healers Spiral graduates irrespective of your level of healing practice. Karen will also address key issues around practice such as, maintaining control of it, expanding it, rebooting it or launching it.

INTRODUCTION TO SHAMANISM: Sat. 25th February & Sun. 1st April, 10.30am – 5.30pm Cost €75. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.
These very popular one day workshops bring the participant into gentle and deep connection with natural energies of the Earth. Gradually, through core shamanic techniques of the Irish tradition, there is a profound opportunity to achieve a calm centredness in our bodies, minds and Spirits. Not only is this day a traditional stepping stone from which many choose to bring stronger self practice and healing by taking the “Medicine Spiral” later in the year, it is also a “stand alone” day, in which participants can find respite and restoration along with new inner resources of strength and insight to address better current life issues that may be challenging. It is a day of warm, accepting community and safe and elegant leadership. Many return to this one day gathering for the uplifting charge that energises the Soul. No previous formal shamanic experience/training is necessary to attend. For more information, click here.

“SPIRIT & MONEY IN YOUR LIFE”- A TRAINING IN SACRED ABUNDANCE: (with Karen), Sun.Feb.26th., 10am – 5pm Cost €80. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7. (If you can’t afford the €80, come & learn how to call it in!)
In this one day training, Karen brings a valuable opportunity to shift positively your relationship to money and abundance from a life lived in sacredness. The juxtaposition of Spirituality and Money/Abundance, is for some difficult and even contradictory. From the highest ethical energies, abundance (including monetary) can flow in a way that is sincere and natural. Her training will include the examination and clearing of limiting core beliefs that many of us hold regarding our Spiritual life and the place of abundance/money in it. She will help you draw from within, your personal, highest vision for harvesting abundance in your life

LIVING A PROTECTED LIFE: PSYCHIC SHIELDS: Sun. 11th March 10am – 5.30pm. Cost €80. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.
Protection is a much used word among those who are interested in the movement of energy and it is an early issue that is addressed on the Slí An Chroí Medicine Spiral. We receive the Rites of Protection, known as the “Bands of Power, Protection and Balance” on the first direction, the North. Today’s training offers this ceremony before receiving it by participating on the Medicine Spiral. We live in a universe of energies of mixed vibrations and informed by a vast range of intent and intentionality. We need to be “fire-proofed”, so that we can navigate our world without being depleted by doing so. The “Living In Protection” workshop takes us forward from this place to bring greater awareness of the nature of movement of energy and to offer techniques for personal, family and living/working space protection not possible on the Medicine Spiral. We will explore the field of “sorcery” and examine what actually feeds “abuse of power”. We will examine the forms energy takes when it is abused and the mechanisms of transferance, when that energy is directed onto others. The workshop will also highlight the relationship between “shadow” and “sorcery”. We all know people, communities and environments that “drain” us, often an indication that we are being psychically drained in their presence. Living In Protection brings new armour for our LEM (Light/Electro-Magnetic or Auric Field), the first plane on which toxic energy impacts our being.
No prior formal shamanic experience is required to take this training and as it brings awareness of psychic protection further than is possible on the Medicine and Healers Spirals, graduates of both programmes are also suitably placed to take this training.

CÓNACHT: SPRING EQUINOX CELEBRATION Wednesday, March 21st, 7pm-10pm. Cost €12. Venue: Slí An Chroí Centre, Smithfield, Dublin 7.
The first equinox of the year is a calling to align ourselves with this time of equal light and dark. As the days will become progressively lighter from this date, it also heralds the advent of Bealtaine, (May 1st, the beginning of Summer). How we align our lives to expand in tandem with the hours of greater sunlight is predicated upon our honouring of Spring Equinox. How do we wish ourselves to shine? How do we wish to embrace the rising warmth of the days? In the final half of Spring, can we reach for deeper prayer to deliver our “seeds of becoming”, planted at Samhain or Imbolc? How are we being called to prepare for Summer? This evening’s gathering will offer ceremony and ritual for us renew energies and synchronise with this important time in the turning of the seasons. We will cleanse, share and take a timely immrama (journey on the drum) to connect with the energies of Equinox. We will follow with ceremony and ritual for personal, communal and global renewal. No previous shamanic experience/training is necessary to attend. Friends & family welcome.
